The Trees are Feeling Springish
I love the first buds of spring — it’s like a giant teaser for the fantastic show that is soon to come. Here are some pictures of my trees budding in this warmer weather.

If you live in the hills in Eugene, you have definitely heard these frogs calling. I’ve lived here for over a year though, and I had never seen one. I finally found one sitting under a bush in my yard, so i had to take some pictures.

I replaced my front bed of strawberries a while ago with some mixed succulents. The plants were supposed to be deer-proof, but the deer had other plans.
Urban wildlife is a reality for anyone living in the hills. In the long run, you (and your garden) will be happier if you can learn to live with the wildlife, stop fighting it, and actually enjoy the local fauna in your own yard.
I have some sort of wild onion growing in random places in my yard—a throwback to the days of this area being full of onion farms.
