We had a great time at the Eugene Earth Day 2009 Celebration, where we got to see some great little electric vehicles. Read on to see why my daughter wants one. (I told her not until she gets her license ... in another 13 years. HA)

I stopped by Eugene’s Earth Day 2009 Celebration with my family, where I met the makers of this cool little car:

While this kind of car is totally impractical for a mom with 2 small kids in the car (aka me), I could totally see my parents driving such a thing, or my husband commuting to work. Besides looking like something out of the movie Wall-E, it can go about 30 miles without a charge and costs you a penny per mile to drive it for "fuel" (according to the BugE web site). And now that Lane Community College won EWEB’s $100k grant to build a solar-powered EV charging station, your fill-ups might just be free!
