A Local Farm Could Use Some Help

We had some really wacky weather here for Eugene in the past couple of weeks. We started with normal spring weather in May, and then went to a week of 80° heat where all my broccoli bolted. In the first days of June, everything started to go really crazy—we had huge thunderstorms nightly with periods of pounding rain. Apparently, some areas also got hail storms, and one local CSA farm took a beating. They are having a cleaning/pruning party on Wednesday, and I’ll try to be there if the weather holds. (It’s a bit hard to do field work in heavy rain with a baby on your back so I’ll have to see what I can do …) Details of the Wednesday event can be found on the Lost Creek Farm website.
